Remington Duncan

At Seaton & Duncan, every client receives comprehensive and personalized service.

Why did you decide to become an attorney?

Growing up, it was always a joke that I would be a good attorney because I was analytical, fair minded, and I enjoyed a good debate. As time went on, I realized that I needed to put these skills to use in a purposeful way–a way to serve others.

What’s more, my attitude is that it’s not enough to be good but rather be good for something, and that’s when I realized that the jokes about me becoming an attorney one day was in fact no joke afterall.

That said, everyone has to start somewhere, so I became a private investigator and an intern at Seaton & Duncan all while attending Charleston Southern University. As they say, the rest is history!

People that know me would say I’m very friendly, approachable, upfront, and honest. I like to win, especially cases, and I view each case as an opportunity to overcome a challenge.

With each and every client, I’m always reaching for the best possible outcome given their unique situation. Since every client’s situation is unique I treat each client, along with their situation, uniquely as well.

You see, some cases are much more demanding than others. Some cases are complex, while some are very simple. Regardless of the situation, I create a strategy that considers the circumstances of the case along with the client’s desired outcome.

What are your academics
and achievements?

I graduated from Berkeley High School in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. I attended Charleston Southern University (CSU) where I double majored in Business Administration with an Emphasis in Management and Political Science.

Outside of class, I submerged myself in extracurricular activities such as ENACTUS, which is a group of student entrepreneurial leaders who try to use innovation and business principles to improve the world.

I was also involved in the South Carolina Student Legislature which is a student-run mock legislature where colleges and universities in the State of South Carolina send delegations to two annual sessions to debate bills and further their knowledge about parliamentary procedure and state government.

I attended law school at the Charleston School of Law (CSOL). During my three years at CSOL, I was president of three different student organizations, one of which I was a co-founder; coordinated numerous social events; was a member of Phi Delta Phi, which was founded in 1869 and is oldest legal organization in continuous existence in the United States, predating even the American Bar Association; and became a school Senator for my graduating class.

What do you enjoy when you’re not practicing law?

Fortunately, living in Berkeley County, South Carolina, we enjoy good weather most of the year. During the summer you’ll find me spending much of my time outdoors, close to nature, grilling out with friends and family, or floating on a body of water.

In the fall and winter, much of my time is spent watching football, attending social events, and hunting. When I’m not doing any of the above, there’s a good chance I’m at home contemplating my client’s cases in preparation for the next strategic step.
